There are two exciting performances scheduled for successful participants:

  • Livestream performance and recording in studio at the MUN Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL), broadcast live to all schools in Newfoundland and Labrador.

ABOUT THE BAND

The Rotary Jazz Band, directed by Juno-nominated educator Susan Evoy, is an auditioned big band made up of Rotary Music Festival participants.

Players from various ensembles come together during the festival to rehearse and perform in a short amount of time – usually three rehearsals and two performances in just one week.

The band performs live in studio for an NLESD broadcast at MUN’s Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) and also plays a public concert alongside our jazz clinicians at the D.F. Cook Recital Hall.

There is no additional cost to participate in Rotary Jazz, however attendance at all rehearsals and performances is mandatory.

Auditions usually take place in mid March. More information will be available by December 15, 2023.

In the meantime, you can watch past CITL livestream events below!
